When I eventually get mine on the road, remind me not to follow behind you in case you have to stop suddenly.
I think you will be stopping a lot sooner than the rest of us with those brakes

Just looking at fitting a proportioning valve to stop rear lockup as i'm going to be on standard stag calipers with uprated pads on the frontfor a year untill i get them changed to the 4 pot alli calipers.
Secured my E30 diff at last, so decided to read this post again.
What I don't understand is why I would need to do any welding during the refit. The article seems to imply that the diff plate needs welding into position.
Surely, as Stags were all standard in this area the Monarch kit would have this already done (I am assuming that the diff is bolted to the diff plate in the final installation)
As it's Sunday my brain is not working - pictures would be terrific.

Paul ,
I take it you are doing the BMW diff cage welded to the stag arms and not the complete e30 rear end like me,the stag diff plate and the adaptor plate are bolted together with a adjusting slot to allow for variations in bodydue to restoration work BUT as i found out the slot for me was no where near long enough or was in the wrong place as i had to make it an inch long to get my diff in the right place.
My suggestion to fit:- Is fit the diff cage and arms without the diff, fit the trailing arms ,then centre the wheels in the arches, check the tow of the wheels both sides ,when happy do up the bolts fixing the arms.
Finally fit the diff with the adapror plate ,see if you need to lengthen the adjustor slot ,when happy that it all fits, tighten up the bolts holding the 2 plates together take diff back off and tack weld them together still bolted to the diff or it might bend (BTDT)
