Those of you who, like me like a bit of spirited driving, and happen to stray from the straight and narrowoccasionally may have experienced an attendance at a National Speed Awareness Course.
I can highly recommend it (the course, not breaking the speed limits) if you get an option to go. It is usually only available to'moderate speeders' (OK I was lucky this time) as an option rather than pay a fixed penalty and get three points on your license.
You get a theory session followed by a couple of hours of on-the-road training and assessmentsand it is no easy option, but after completing the courseit makes you realise thatdriving on modern roads as long as I have without any further training is not the best policy.
Andjust when you think you are in bad company (we all sat there before the course in dead silence feeling slightly guilty) one of the attendees (no names mentioned)admitted to being a Rapid Response Driver(yes a policeman)!
Anyone else done the course?
