Good luck with the project. What's the HP/KW spec on the motor you're fitting?
I'd be more worried about the half-shafts than the diff. No way that the Stag diff could cope.

looks pretty good spin, but dont you think it might be a bit underpowered?:P

if i was going to mod a car i would definitly go for a modern lump like this, rather than the Buick pushrod reject that gets so much attention in the triumph world . lite blue touchpaper.........stand well back!

Har har; you know the real truth old man, remove your Raybans, release the guide dogand stop denying yourself!!

Well proven and reliable (well unless it's in a Range Rover that is!)

Don't you think the reliability problem with the Rover V8 is more down to the Prince of Darkness than the engine?

tbh I dont have a problem with any modifications on anything, i saw mon stags car the other week and was very impressed and i hear there are even (ahem) better ones out there.

I would actually be quite amused to see the reaction of some to see LD1 tampered with.

on a serious note though , i think if tax exept was to roll forward i think it may go with a % of originality involved, otherwise you are not saving something historic, it would be changing the past, bit like giving Nelson some Raybans in 1797 and saving his eye!

Thanks Nick, the standard LS1 is just over 300hp. I will run with that for a while but I want it to 400hp which wont be a problem at all for these engines. The diff will be OK now I have fitted a BMW LSD. Yes the half shafts might look like licorice sticks if I am not careful. If that happens will get bigger ones made. Spin

That might be a tad annoying if my tax exempt motor became tax accruable because of a Buick lump which was originally even older than the model design itself!

Irony in the extreme I believe?!
