    On my last Stag I used polythene sheet as described, but tailored to the door inner panel apertures and fastened with duct tape to the door panel, the smaller holes I sealed with just tape. Seemed to work well for the five years I had that car.

    On my current Stag, I would like to explore the use of a thin 2-3 mm closed cell foam sheet, similar to 1990's vehicles, P38a Range Rover for example. This should have even better sound deadening properties that a simple poly sheet. Packaging may be an issue though..........

            I've used that butyl strip for all sorts, including refitting the windscreen header trim. It works well.

              Hi all anybody know what is rubber does?, i think it's just to push the panel away from the regulator?, the vinyl is to cover the regulator .

                    I used polythene carpet protector from Jewsons or similar. Lightly sticky on one side, easy to use and not expensive.

                      Over on Pete C's YouTube channel Pete secured the plastic membranes to the door frames of his mk3 cortina using good old double sided sticky tape. Seems like a winner to me.
