I bought a Sprint manual gearbox with J type OD. Last Dec. I removed the OD and bought it with me to the US. This weekend while on another UK trip, with the help of a friend, we completely dismantled the box. The  plan is to use the OD and output shaft and convert a non OD Stag box into an OD box. What other parts are compatible and worth keeping? Are the gears the same? The syncros look the same. The layshaft looks the same. The gearbox top cover looks similar, except for the removable plate on the Sprints one.  Is the gearbox shell the same? The clutch mechanism is different.  What's worth keeping to bring back on a subsequent trip.
