    Starter Motor Swap?

Is a starter motor swap and easy fix or does it involve removal of exhausts etc
Might go for a hi-torque Denso jobbie

Excellent description given in the technical section by the Flying Farmer, not the most straightforward job

I swopped mine out with a Wosp hi torque last year.
Did it without taking the exhaust off but a real pain getting the nuts back on behind the bellhousing so expect plenty of rude words!

I've bought a WOSP too..Years of Japanese bikes and never had a Denso go down on me so stick with em..I use Yuasa Batteries for the same reason

The Wosp doesn't come with the ballast circuit bypass terminal.
I wanted to keep this functionality so bought the wiring adapter with diode so I get 12v to the coil when cranking.
Changing to the Wosp has solved decades of intermittent click nothings that I could never get to the bottom of.
