    In to the V And pooling on to the floor!! Just about to set out for a show, luckily the , I had convinced the Mrs to come with me and she spotted the problem, I dread to think .....still going to the show , in her car

    coming from the overflow on the carbs or leaking past the bung on the float chamber?

      Hi it was a petrol hose clip becoming loose at the right hand carb, simples ! but oh so dangerous

        Blooming cars. How does something like that happen, it’s an inanimate object for goodness sake. It could only be vibration surely?

          I once found a large cucaracha living in my engine compartment, heaven knows what that could have eaten if I hadn't got rid of it!

            Just an observation on that - I was replacing my hoses last year, and discovered that a PO had fitted wrong hose sizes. it did not have the original tee, reducers and elbows, just a tee and then pipe directly to the carbs, For replacement hoses:-
            In the engine bay as far as the tee piece should be 5/16 bore.
            From the tee piece to each carb should be 1/4 bore.
            All mine were 5/16, which explained why my carb connections had never felt very tight! Maybe others have the same problem.
            I was sourcing hose with the correct spec for modern fuels, but I could not trace a 5/16 1/4 reducing tee, so I used a 5/16 tee, and then after a short length of 5/16 hose on each carb feed, a 5/16 - 1/4 reducer, followed by a length of 1/4 hose to the carb stub.
