That looks like a sensor that needs some electronics around it. It is not a switch.

This thread is getting so complicated and expensive. Just get a Merc W124 tank as Tim said. It has the proper cap, looks the part, has a proper level switch and with the correct Merc hose, plumbs in easily. I paid £5 for mine.

YOU MAY HAVE TO SHOUT A BIT LOUDER JOHN. NOBODY'S LISTENING TO YOU EVEN THOUGH WHAT YOU SAY MAKES SENSE.

The Volvo unit does the trick well too, even though the cap is slightly higher pressure.

Volvo cap is 20psi, so is the original. Personally I think (please don't quote me only my ownthinking) these plastic header tanks from various newish (including my volvo one)cars look out of keeping in a Stag.

I had mine now for nearly a year and am happy with the difference it has made,but I have not been happy with the look of it. I have ordered an Alloy tank together with a chrome cap, should look good with the TV8..
