Stag 0-60 mph or 62 as in 100 kmh

Some have slated my Stag, well most really.

But in reality it's what the Stag may have evolved into after 50 years .

In real terms what is the Stag performance....... The book says 0-60 or 62 (100 kph) @ 9-12 sec.

I know majority of Stag owner say that their Stag is fast or surprising quick compared with modern cars.

    But Is it................................................ .................................................. .................................................. ........................................

I'm thinking could my" Frankenstein Car" do the impossible insult..

Do the 0-100-0 as quick as a totally standard car to go to 60 mph (or 62 as in 100 kph)

My car isnt completely ready now but............................................... ..................

Its only a matter of time till i sort it out and i will have a 2 km runway accessible for a test............Anyone interested in Devon

(it will be a laugh what ever happens )

One thing Stags aren't is fast. I'd hazard a guess that a majority of new cars would be faster.

Not saying they need to be. Thats another matter altogether.

... are you talking about faster than a totally standard "modern" 3.0 V8, 'cos I can tell you the Stag very probably isn't as quick and it certainly wouldn't be neck and neck in the acceleration up to 250 km/h as yesterday on a pleasantly empty A8 Autobahn

        The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137

Having a 2009 Cooper S to compare “fast” with I can say the Stag definitely isn’t but it’s a damn sight more comfortable and makes a far nicer noice than any 4 pot engine.

                Hi Drew,
the unrestricted limits on some of the autobahn is a reason not to move to France. 130kph is the limit which is now pretty rigorously enforced. When I first went to work in Paris I had a M-B 230 CLK. It regularly flew down the autoroutes, though I often had to stop at a service area to ensure my average speed came down before the next toll! Today there are fixed radar, and mobile radar.
To get back on subject, my auto Stag is not fast. However, it does have quite good rolling road performance. That is from about 50 to 70 mph, it’s as good as most daily drivers.

The Stag is not a sports car it is a gentleman's cruiser.
Questions of performance are just too vulgar .

My Stag still surprises a few moderns at the traffic lights gran prix - for a few yards anyway! Regards, John.

Don't think the Stag was ever marketed as a gentleman's cruiser.

Yours might not be a sports car but mine is, and the performance isn't vulgar, its a hoot. Chuck another 100 hp under the bonnet and you'll begin to learn.......

I drove from an hour 30 north of Paris down to Nantes in Jan over 2 days. Great roads, no cops, barely under 80 (somethings) and a few sprints to 100 (somethings) ....

you guys dont know how lucky you are compared to NZ roads. We are regressing back to 5 and a man with a flag or preferably shanks pony ....

Quite agree with the extra 100bhp, but I think Bullstarz has probably added quite a multiple of that

Will be interesting to see just what it is capable of.

My old V8 Toledo could do 113mph in 12.5 seconds on the drag strip (quarter mile), that had a power to weight ratio of about 300bhp/ton
