    Road Tax

Just had my reminder that my road tax is due end of this month £190!!!

If I were a dishonest type, I might just consider changing the colour of my Green '76 Stag to White as per my '72 Stag and swop the number plates and VIN plates then I would have free road tax. I could even just swop the plates and tell them I have changed the colour! Now that would be totally dishonest wouldn't it?

It just doesn't pay to be an honest person.

I was having a chat with Bob Heritage and Koy 23(always forget his name,Sorry) Re road tax and classic exemption. This government should be following the rest of Europe regarding the 30 year law for classic cars?

Hope this takes effect in the coming elections.

Maybe I should only tax for 6 months in eager anticipation of a victory for Dave.

Toriesshould put forward this policy ontheir election manifesto, as for as i can ascertain that would make a total of one policy so far for 'just call me Dave'

personally i think it should have been model types, for instance if a car started production pre 73 and was exactly the same post in all but cosmetics it should be tax exempt.

i would i think not stop a purchase based on exemption.

I do hope that when the Tories win the next election they consider the rolling car tax exemption for classic cars again.my stag is 8 months out of the tax exemption cut off..

"Free road tax on that mate and cheap insurance too?!"

The number of times I have heard this and I have only had my Stag 2 years!
Then I have to explain the 1997 - 1972 scenario!

Not many people seem to realise about the stealth tax that Gordon introduced back in 1997....

I too have just forked out £190 for the pleasure of doing less than 2000 miles per annum.

The annoying thing is its far more expensive to tax than so many modern motors that clock up endless miles on Britains highways & byeways...

Come on Dave gives us a Tax break please!!!! :dude:
