Any recommendations to stop oil drippings from the oil sump plug?
I envy a mate of mine in Southall West London, he has an immaculate Maroon Stag. His garage floor is spotless not a hint of oil anywhere.
His Stag is one of the best gurgling sound you will hear on a Stag!
I have had no further drips since fitting the Paddock one, after ensuring that the copper washer had a good flat surface to seal against.
In addition, the magnet is a useful remover of fine metallic particles, and if they are larger ones, a warning of trouble! (probably in the timing gear area).
I put one in when I first purchased the car, came out like a Christmas tree after the first oil change after that, must have pull all the years of crap to the plug from the bottom of the sump after the engine rebuild. but now clean but good to investigate/inspect at the oil change, that's another reason I like the original filter assembly, you look what you have a in look the bottom of the bowl. just my thoughts.

I was told by people on this forum that allStags like to leave their mark. Anyway it is sort built in rust prevention system for the underside of the car
I had trouble for a long time getting a good seal and after some digging on the forum found out that the plug needs to have a tapered thread (3/8 NPT).
Most of the ones you can get from the usual suppliers have a straight thread and therefore leak or worse start to damage the thread (like mine had) as you attempt to tighten them even more to stop the drips!
In the end, I carefully ran a tap down it just to ensure there were no damaged threads and replaced it with one of these.
Its been through a few oil changes now, it has a really strong magnet, it fits like a glove and it doesn't leak.
I can highly recommend it.

It is yes - should have added a picture of the back of the packet!
Sorry.
Edit: Although the instructions mention a washer there is not one supplied with this plug as it is not required. The NPT thread seals on itself (you can add some PTFE tape if it makes you feel better )

Thanks all. I investigate the issue and report back. I need to order a few parts out of UK and will try the James Paddock one. The IP-03X on Amazon in US is about 23$
