My hood only has the front, longer ones fitted. Are the rear, shorter ones just cosmetic or are they really needed? It looks an awkward job to fit now.

The rear ones an catch & snap easily.

I think they are slightly more than cosmetic.

Construction & use meant all such brackets had to be covered.

I don't have any on my car. I took them off including the rubber and metal strip. They were falling off. As a driver, you rarely look up. The advantage with them off, is you can get to the nuts and bolts easily.

Your head might appreciate them if they made contact. I wonder what other parts the Triumph designers added that we could remove? I’ll start a list of items and advantages:

Exhaust systems— saves weight and keeps the underbody warm and dry.

Air intake — saves weight and filter cost.

And why not get rid of the passengers seats; also saves a lot of weight, and stops the intermittent whining noises when travelling at speed….
