    Mine auto cancels - is that rare? If it doesn’t my cockpit scan picks it up pretty quickly

        Yes it autocancels OK but not if it’s a slight turn like pulling out to overtake or joining a motorway… I know that’s out of style nowadays but I still use my indicators in those situations!!

        Also I’m in USA, really bright sun here, not gloomy all the time like the UK

          That sun ☀️ would definitely make a difference. I forgot about the overtaking thing, makes sense.

            I think it’s also down to modern car bad habits, my moderns have a tap function that flashes them a few times then stops. I guess I’m used to that now.

              I know exactly what you mean there.. been there and done it, on a fast a-road bearing down on a junction when the elderly gent thought I was actually going to make the turn! Luckily there was nowt coming the other way as the oncoming lane was required. as was a change of underpants.

              I am now much more aware and Pauls Cockpit scan is on my driving awareness agenda.

              One Stag I had in the workshop had a module attached between the flasher unit and the column switch that made a much louder click. I thought that is a nice idea, especially as the "Carrot" pie tell tale is partially hidden by the steering wheel rim and my dinner plate left hand

                All the cluster LEDs now removed and replaced with new filament bulbs. Full functionality now restored and all warning lights clearly visible

                The 10-quid spent on LEDs was, I guess, worth the exercise and the fun-filled debate on here Never to old to learn eh?

                BTW I have one of those electronic gadgets fitted which starts beeping after a pre-determined (user adjustable) number of indicator flashes, so I am very unlikely to forget to cancel them after a turning.
