^^^ What he said.
The EU and UK government just need to put all their "agendas" to the side and get the mess sorted. I can order stuff direct from a company in China, (as I did with a few £k's worth of storage batteries late last year), and get it sent DDP (Delivery and Duty Paid) and it turns up on my doorstep via DPD (other carriers are available), no hassle, no extra paper work, no hassle with duty, VAT, fees, nothing extra to pay - its all built in the price. This is also available for goods sent between the EU and UK and potentially has been since July 21st 2021. BUT it hasn't been well publicized, I suspect because the systems are still being setup, it is up to the seller to offer it to their customers. Carriers are now starting to advertise it more and I suspect in the future it will become common place and we will get back to a sensible trading pattern. Having said that as far as I can see it is no different to sending and receiving stuff from the USA which has been a PITA for years.
