Hi everyone, now reassembling rear drive shafts the back plate, is there a certain position that it attaches to the shaft or can you bolt it on anywhere. Many thanks Steve.

Do you mean that you're concerned that your back plate has previously been fitted incorrectly and want to know if its ok to leave it, or are you wanting to fit it differently to what jbuckl and MandM describe for some reason and are asking if this ok? You could have problems with any insurance claim if you knowingly deviate from the original design of the braking system.Last edited by Philip Wardle; 24 July 2023, 09:06.

Definitely lost on this one if it's not the backplate where the wheel cylinder & Co are attached to as in the photos. Perhaps a picture which tells a thousand words?

I have had disc brakes for years, but seem to remember the cable being under the suspension arms with standard drums. The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137
