Insurance for Stags

Had to shell out again for a runabout (2nd time since march)

2016 jazz.

car spend this year is 2x the drivers income.

premium has risen to £950 now.

Will no doubt have to wait for a low ball offer on the stolen Yaris.

stag insurance is small change.

I have used the same small broker (although they were bought out a couple of years back) for decades. They are now called AIC Insurance Broker (https://aicinsure.co.uk/ 01442 242400).
This year was £116.26, fully comp,agreed value (but no legal cover). You get through to a real person, who has been there for as long as I can remember (Sue Evans). I have never found a reason to even get another quote.

Sadly you will never know how good an insurance company is until you have to claim. My own experience with my Stag insurance is:

For many years my first Stag was insured through Peter Best. RH couldn't provide a reasonable quote. When I had an accident in it in 2008, PB were brilliant. Their chap visited quite soon after and declared it a write off, and agreed that I could keep the salvage. A cheque arrived within a very short time.

More recently, with RH still not able to provide a competitive quote, my current Stag was insured elsewhere, until suddenly 4 years ago RH became competitive, so I went with them. This lasted for two years when, for no apparent reason, the renewal quote went sky high again. With recommendation from the local coordinator of another Triumph club I moved to ClassicLine. I am just about to renew with them for the third year as the premium has only risen very slightly over the three years. When I needed to call their breakdown service recently it was dealt with very quickly; the car was recovered and home in my garage within two hours of making the call. The trip from place of breakdown to my house was nearly an hour of that.
