Do we actually know that he intends to keep the Stag? Is it his in any case? He may have been assigned it by the production company and have no affection for it at all (although we may all find that hard to believe).

His Wikipedia page says: "May currently owns a 2010 Porsche 911 Carrera S facelift, a 2018 Alpine A110, a Fiat Panda, a Volkswagen Polo, a Tesla Model 3 Highland, a prototype 1989 Rover Mini Cooper RSP,[64] "a couple of Land Rovers", a Triumph Stag, a 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale which he ordered following his exit from Top Gear and the VW Beach Buggy". Never sure quite how accurate these entries are.

There are quite a few positive articles like this one: https://www.carthrottle.com/news/grand-tour-has-made-everyone-want-triumph-stag

The link has a problem for some reason... This is the gist..

The Grand Tour Has Made Everyone Want A Triumph Stag

Auto Trader has seen searches for the Stag increase by 793 per cent since One For The Road launched last week Mike Bartholomew

Share on: James May's Triumph Stag in The Grand Tour: One For The Road
One For The Road, the final episode of The Grand Tour fronted by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, wrapped up their 22-year working relationship in a fitting fashion, and part of that appeal was the cars it featured.

While other recent Grand Tour specials have featured more modern, expensive metal, or deviated away from cars altogether, the trio of ’70s classics featured in One For The Road felt like a return to the early days of Top Gear specials, with each car neatly summing up its presenter’s personality and preferences.
As it turns out, it’s also made lots of people want a Triumph Stag. Online car sales platform Auto Trader has seen searches for the brawny V8 roadster increase by 793 per cent since One For The Road launched on 13 September, after May drove one in a very 1970s purple across Zimbabwe for the episode.

One of our USA club members just completed a short trip as well...

He covered 5,916 miles and crossed portions of 14 states and one province, he is bursting with pride that the trusty Stag transported them in comfort and style and never let them down.

            Well done Mel Hildebrandt

              Well done Mel Hildebrandt

              Nice.

I always wanted to take my stag to Austria or Switzerland, perhaps via the German Black Forest.

              maybe even stelvio pass Italy.

I provisionally booked. ( the last Swiss esm?)

Then my stag spat its Waterpump gears for the 3rd time.

              had to cancel.

              my stag is fixed now.

i still like stags after many decades, many struggles.

i still want to drive it to Austria or Switzerland.

              maybe it will happen?

my dad gave up buying triumphs after a serious new car experience…. New Toledo with failed steering coupling due to a missing bolt!

… Maybe it will never happen.

my stag has been a long term relationship though.

same wife, same car, same house, for over 3 decades.

              yikes.

my efforts have been to try and help with remaking parts for our stags.

some of the parts are available, pleased to say.

its great that james May has created good publicity for stags.
