I wouldn't want that bonnet "bulge" either. Sorry but if it don't fit under the bonnet it doesn't count in my book. You could fit a Merlin engine if you fold enough sheet metal around it!

I agree. It spoils the lines of the Stag. I don't object to louvres or even a small scoop but not a huge lump moulded into the bonnet.

      Just my view.

There is a Meteor engined SD1 out there somewhere.

I was just looking for it to post here but I found a V12 27 litre SD1 instead:shock::shock::shock::shock:

Isn't the Meteor a 27 litre unsupercharged Merlin meant for marine use?

            I thought it was a Rover-manufactured, naturally-aspirated tank engine, based on a Rolls-Royce Merlin.

"The Rolls-Royce Meteor (also sometimes known as the Rover Meteor) was a British tank engine of the Second World War".

So there was a Rolls and a Rover version and I stand corrected it was for tank use - they used Merlins for marine in MTBs

Rather like the Buick 215 and Rover V8 - one is real, and the other a pretender to the crown

How about this one - 5.7 litre. Still a work in progress I believe.

Its almost done! Having some computer problems at the moment but should be sorted soon. Got the paperwork and approvals back from licensing dept this week.

Drove it on the road for the first time Friday - awesome! Should have an update and more photos soon. Also might be an article in the magazine in the next few months. These things always take longer than planned with unexpected issues to sort out but will be worth it. Spin
