    Hi Mike,
It sounds like it never rains but it pours up your way (literally). What a b*****d when you put your faith in supposed "tradesmen".
Solve your problems one job at a time, and hopefully you can eventually look back on this episode and put it down to experience.
The one thing I try to do for big outlays of money is to canvas the Club members for word of mouth recommendations - normally works out ok.
Keep smiling bud - you'll get through this!!

Yes Jasper I always pay my bills in full and straight away. Unfortunately I am old school and always pay straight away. To be honest it keeps coming back to bite me especially over the last 18 months.

Funnily enough I emailed them this morning and got a reply which say's that they will be in touch tomorrow, to see what they can do, intersesting as I would have thought that they would have sorted any damage before theyhanded overthe car. Anyway, to be honest and it go's against my ethics, but there's going to be a rubber ch*que, thats going to be bouncing right back to me tomorrow, so lets wait and see. Only problem is that I wrote it on Saturday and apparently there are banks that will cash buisness checks straight away and on a Saturday as well. Never mind I'm going to fight this all the way.

Oh and they broke the knob off the bonnet catch release as well, and this afternoon, I pulled the bonnet with what remains of the bonnet pull catch and they put the bonnet back on with only 2 x bolts each side, I can only assume that they lost them like they lost all the other bits that were not welded onto the car. Luckily there is a SOC member who lives Glasgow way, who kept sending me up bit's and pieces as they lost them so believe me I have told no lies. Once this is all over , as I can't say much until this is concluded,Iam going to slag this mob off to whoever will listen, what I have posted on here is only half the story. There are 2 x SOC members who know who this mob are, so I sincerely hope that they warn off other potential customers, as I certainly will, they aught tobe jailed

Fair enough, but if you are unhappy, insist on them writing 'paid under protest' on the bill.

              Sorry to hear about this!

I had a similar run in with a body shop in 2001. Poor welding, orange peel paint, filler used where I had asked for new metal to be let in, Then incompetent mechanics (who were only asked to bolt the engine back in but managed to do even that wrong!)

Frankly I can't afford to pay for professionals to do the job these days, but the upside is I know I'll take more care when I do it myself!

Hope you can get the hood frame sorted without too much grief!

Personally, I would be VERY reluctant to let them anywhere near the hood, without the expertise of Chris et al they'll make it worse. Martin.

I rather think you already know what they can do
