wire under seat

Hi, does anyone knowwhy i have two purple wires with grey conector coming from the bottom of my stags seat diaphram (passenger seat) .Hope some one can shed some light on this . cheers paul

I have the same thing. I think they may be something to do with the seat belt light but hopefully someone will be along soon to confirm.

I think its for the pressure sensor under the seat thats connected to the 'fasten seat belt' warning light on the dash

That seems logical Baz ,but i was hoping it was an ejector seat for the wife.

Hi ,I think the seat belt light is turned off when the seat belt is connected into its holder as this would be the only way to ensure the belt was fastend.Like ejector fantasy better though. Paul

Seat belt light doesn't come on if no-one is sitting on the seat. It's only when someone sits on the seat that a contact is made to light up the warning sign. Put in the seat belt and contact is broken, therefore light out.

Guys definately the seat belt light as I just changed carpets out, but now my light stay's on constantly so not sure what I have done, might just disconnect it though

Does it stay on if both seat belts are fastened, or if you put the drivers belt in the passenger side? When I reconnected mine I swapped the wires in the centre console by mistake.

John doe'snt matter if both seat belts are connected the bloody light stays on.

At least yours lights up, cant get anything out of mine. I dont need reminding but it would be nice if it worked.

Have you checked under the rear ash tray,there you will find two grey connectors if they are together they should,nt be. disconnect and the lightwill go out.If youhad your seat belts changed you may not have the original britax holder which has 4 wires from it, each pair attached to a grey connector which in turn attachto the respective connectors under the ash tray holder. I think This is correct , but i do stand to be corrected. hope this is of some use. Paul.
