    Probably because of this:

    Hoping someone can point me the right direction how do you remove the inhibitor switch on a bw65 gearbox regards paul

    I guess Derek didn't know how to post a link to back to this thread.

    It emphasises his original, valid in my opinion, comment to be careful when removing the wires from the switch. Though I still can't agree that you should cut the wires unless it is a last resort. Mines a BW35 so the switch is more robust so can't comment on how easy or otherwise it is to sort the BW65 switch.

      If the switches are that expensive and of poor quality would it not be better to replace it with a sealed micro switch, that would only allow the car to start in park or neutral depending how you set it up.
      only my slant on what seems an expensive job.
