looks really good nice colour, what size are the wheels, and are they from another car
dave
The wheels are 16x7, with 4 x 114.3mm hole centres. I bought them secondhand from our local auction website and the seller did not mention what they came off. I have not seen these wheels on any other car so I have no clue where they came from either. I was just fortunate to find them with a four stud pattern to fit the Stag. Most cars these days are sporting five stud alloys so four stud is becoming increasingly difficult to find in a 114.3 pattern.
They are a 40mm offset and in order to get them to fit inside the wheelarch I had hub adaptors made. 27mm for the front and 15mm for the rear. The tyres are Goodyear Eagle F1 205 55 16. The car sits on standard springs with Spax adjustable shocks and the ride is brilliant. No sign of harshness as a result of the thinner sidewall.

ive been looking a ebey for wheels 114.3 toyota but as you say finding a 4 stud is harded to find now, lots of five stud
Before finding my alloys I was trying to import a set of these direct from the Philippines. If anyone wants to go the minilite route I believe these are the best looking replicas on the market. They have a massive selection of sizes, colours and offsets.
IMG_4233_173.JPGFirstly, may I wish you all a Happy New Year. Summer is here and there are a fistful of runs organised from now until winter sets in, in May/June.
We had our Christmas run down to Oamaru, a sleepy little down deep down on the South Island. I finally finished the hardtop and this was the inaugural run with the new de-seamed version. Absolutely brilliant with very little wind noise.
compared to the old hard top.
Over the festive break I have taken the engine and gearbox out for a little gasket maintenance and to fit a new gearbox. I found a Toyota W57 going for a song and couldn't resist it. Killed a few birds with one stone as there was a slight whine and oil leaking out of the front cover plus the W57 has a better first gear ratio.
I also decided to try and find out why the starter motor is graunching. Last year I'd had the starter motor and the ring gear refurbished so there was something wrong with one of them. Had the motor checked and it is fine. The auto electrician said it would next be the ring gear which is probably square cut and not chamfered to suit the starter motor pinion teeth. Upon returning to base he was spot on. So it's off to the machine shop on Monday to have the ring gear teeth cut. But here is the question. Has anyone lightened their flywheel and how much weight is it safe to remove.
Finally caught up with the "For the love of cars" episode on The Stag and great to see some recognisable faces. Congrats to Roger for becoming a celebrity at last. I am still looking for that VW cup holder.
Anyway, here are some photos of the car and our Xmas trip. By the way, many of you may know Nick Dawe is gluten free, lactose intolerant, garlic intolerant, has a nut allergy, can't take direct sunlight, only drinks bottled water from the River Sauer in the Eastern Ardennes and, as we recently found out, has an intense aversion to broccoli. He only ate it because it was $300 a plate for the seafood extravaganza at Fleurs restaurant.
Where are the Moderators when you need them. Nobody needed to see that! Come on NOBODY likes broccoli! He'll be trying to say that brussels sprouts are a food product next!

Have you drank all that Bombay Sapphire to yourself?
Well it was a whole sole that I was trying to get through! Pick the bones out that as they say!
Barry's question about lightening the flywheel seems to have gotten lost in the (attempted) humour.
