I didn't pay in advance, just registered for autopay - similar to the Congestion Charge, but without the registration fee. We weren't told which way we would be going on the HCR, but seeing that we started in the South of Essex, a Dartford crossing seemed likely!

300 mile round trip in the Stag today. Went paragliding about 45 miles South of here, and I managed an 84 kilometre cross country ending up in South Wales.

Unfortunately radio failure meant Judith had to spend the next three hours trying to find me rather than following me on the way, but I have always said she needs more practice driving the Stag!

I've done the same, easy enough.

I went to the event at Gaydon. The new part of the Heritage Centre is well worth a visit. The last Stag built is now relegated to the upstairs park!

Our trip with a local classic car group was cut short yesterday. A non-functional fuel pump ruined the fun. The Stag had to be towed home behind a VW, such a shame... I did get her running again about an hour later, but not too confident about it.

Filled the Stag with petrol after yesterdays run around Wales, 317 miles on 10.5 gallons of fuel = 30.1mpg.

For a car that produces 246 bhp I think that is pretty damn reasonable!

146 mile trip in glorious sunshine up the Exe Valley to Dunster and Dunster Castle. Then on to Porlock Weir, up the famous 1in4 Pollock Hill, along the coast to Countisbury for a late lunch at the Blue Ball. Afterwards on through Lynton to the Valley of the Rocks.

Pretty good Neil, my Focus ST had 220 BHP and would only do 21 mpg

They had that on tap at the Blue Ball, but at over 5% I gave it a miss today - I was driving....

Refitted the clip that holds the control cable for the heater valve. What a job getting my big old bunch of bananas in that confined space behind the ashtray to refit it. Next job is to decorate the hallway through the leterbox😂

I was going to pull out the centre console including the radio to unscrew the lever unit - so is it possible via ashtray to renew the cable complete.

I had to remove the whole console when I did mine some time ago, unless you have very small hands I don't think you can do it just removing the ashtray.

As to what did I do with the Stag today - absolutely nothing as I am still aching, stiff, and sore from fitting a new alternator on Friday. Tomorrow though trying to get her started (she wouldn't on Friday) having now put more petrol in the repaired fuel tank, and saved a bit to squirt down the carbs.

Opened the soft top, took out all the carpets for an airing in the sun. Drank half a bottle of Pinot Grigio with lunch and left the Stag airing.
