Good ling to a fascinating account of a unique car, and interesting to see what 14.5 litres can do to a gearbox, and how it was put right.

That's the trouble with getting old - things wear out and don't work anymore like they used to.
What with poor hearing and failing eyesight I may need to put myself in part-exchange for something better.
Alternatively we've just got a new massage lady on our complex, maybe I should let her work some magic
on me to see if she can improve things.

Fitted rear bumper. All very shiny. I like shiny things.

Conducting further research into "washing/polishing car"

Not convinced by what I've read so far.....

Paul, as I stated in an earlier post, the washing and polishing if a car is best done by Polish lads, usually 3-4 of them. You don't even need to get out of the car!

Don't get me started on the Euro' theme again. We used to have the facility you describe over here; but, I can only assume they've gone back "home" - as per latest demands.... .

I'm having enough trouble getting hold of my breakfast pain-au-chocolat... .

That's ok for your daily, but your Stag deserves better doesn't it?

Both my modern and Stag deserve, and get better. I use 2 buckets of water, 1 just has clean water to rinse off my lambs wool mitt. I have wheel woolies for the wheels. The wife complains that it takes about 2 hours to wash her car and about hour and half to wash the stag.

Takes me about 20 minutes to wash mine with the hose and a brush. I don't find it too taxing as I only do it once a month at most. The poor things still got Dutch, Belgian and French dirt on there and I got home two weeks ago.....

Make sure you wash it before the RBRR, the stickers will come off a lot easier. Also, if they're the same as 2014, wet the panels with soapy water before applying them. We started with a nice clean tidy Stag and ended up driving back in a tip!

Last time I did the RBRR the paint wasn't properly dry and pulled off with the stickers!

Opened the garage doors… looked at it …and cried…again !

Once 'er indoors allows me to stop renovating the house I can kick start the resto again ! Annoying part is I have most if not all the body panels / repair panels to do it along with box loads of new parts, tools I've been snapping up off ebay / auto jumbles along the way. AND heaps of enthusiasm bursting to get my hands on it again!

Employ a decorator to do the house so that you can concentrate on the Stag. Simples......

Drove from Bristol To Nottingham and back. Collected a Selmer Clavioline. Actually, two Claviolines.

Top down most of the way. It's nearly as fast to do the A38 as it is to use the M5/M42.
