I saved $400 today because you lot voted for Brexit!! That makes about $1000 total savings due to the lousy pound.

Got all my engine, gearbox, clutch parts today. I already covered the interior a few weeks ago.

At least I can say I am doing my bit for the British economy from over the pond, I'm ordering everything I can think of while the goings is good..

I can't believe we lost 2-0 at Preston the other week! Upset Villa fan, still, the upside is we got rid of Di Matteo.

I used to go and watch Preston North End play when I was a lad at Deepdale, and went to the match in my 1972 Mk4 Triumph Spitfire.
When younger still my dad took me to a match there between Preston & Blackpool and on the field that day were Tom Finney in a Preston shirt, and Stanley Mathews in a Blackpool shirt - can't remember who won though.

I still follow Preston's results on a Saturday, but tend to support Liverpool in the Premiership now.

Went a test run this morning - new shock absorbers seem to give a smoother ride so glad I did them. Caught in shower so used new wipers in anger - also an improvement.
Think I was at that PNE match with Finney & Matthews - might have been the first one I ever went to in about 1959/60 aged about 11

I was born & brought up in Chorley, Lancs just 9 miles from Preston. At the beginning of 1960 I was 17. Bought 2 cars in Preston, a Morris Marina Super Coupe followed by a Ford Capri Calypso.

Used to go dancing in Preston and watched a few up and coming new pop groups in a theatre there such as Freddie & the Dreamers. When I watched North End play Alan Ball Snr. was their Manager.

I can work out who the vendor is and understand your position. Using an electric motor is a solution but not very elegant.

Hi I have been working on this replacement speedo for around 4 months now and driving around without one in my car so that Smith's could copy my speedo as close as possible to the original, I did look at alternatives like someone else building us a pcb to drive the speedometer after I was told by the original supplier that he couldn't get the boards etc I even asked them for the circuit diagrams so that I could go ahead and build them myself that was a no. So I approached CAI (Smiths) to see if we could work it out together. and that is how they evolved. Yes they do have a re settable trip and are easy to calibrate either over a measured mile or by calculation. They have a green Backlight (led) and are simple to wire.

Collected my Mark 1 Stag yesterday. It drove well on the 100 mile trip back, didn't try the radio not only my first stag but my first V8. Unfortunately the drivers door won't lock so been fiddling with this today as well as a few other niggles. Tried unsuccessfully to sort it without removing it so that is the next step.The joys of owning a classic car, it will keep me out.of mischief when I retire fully. It is so simple compared to my contemporary car.

Err, have to disagree on this one Dave. £40 Million spent on players to be 21st in the Championship, I think not.

I know he won the Champions League with Chelsea but got sacked a few games into the season with his own team. Sacked from the Baggies and I think he may have been sacked from Shalke.

Having said that, I wish I was a football manager, 3 year contract, sacked after 18 months, 18 month payoff then into another Job, kerching kerching!

The last 5 years down Villa Park have been so abysmal ,I wouldn't wish it on, even a bluenose !!!!!!

Back on topic. Used mine to fetch some of the many tons of logs from our golf course for my son's wood burner. That lot should keep him warm for a few weeks.

Only a small one Paul, hence the small diameter logs. I've left the big stuff at the club for the guys with bigger ones

We've had tree surgeons cutting down about 10 mature ash, 3 mature poplar, several mature sycamore and some mature firs. We have quite a pile of logs to shift this year.......
