Fitted a new slave cylinder to the clutch on the GT6 yesterday after it let me down earlier in the week. Fortunately the failure happened less than a mile from our house and I arranged for a friend to tow me home. Glad it didn't do that trick when I was up in Scotland in it with E-Lad in August during the CT Border Raiders event.

I've just done the fuel calculations. From the numbers we were getting between 31 and 38mpg on a Triumph V8 with a ZF gearbox and 3.45:1 differential. I observed that the speedo was reading about 3% fast so reduce the mpg figures to 30 and 36.
Not bad, we weren't driving economically at all. I must pull the plugs, we may have been running a tad lean!!
Oil consumption was pretty close to nil.Richard

Went to my Heartbeat exercise class in it.
Got home and decided to swap the drivers door card for another I got with the car
The top frame is cracked and regularly jumps off the rear top carrier and plays a rattling good tune!
Got the old one off ok then spent ages locating the trim clips I bought ready for doing the job
So tomorrow a bit of cavity wax and then the replacement goes on.Phil, Mk 2, 1974 Emerald Green, Auto, (HT & Kenlowe Fan)

Stripped my power steering pump, had a seal set which were x-ref to XJ6, but need the bearing shell as well as its a bit scored.
It seems that 70s pumps were all the same so ordered an XJ6 repair kit.. looks like it will fit... I'll find out next week!Terry Hunt, Wilmington Delaware

Roof down all the way - what a car! Great sound and handling, very quick, very hard ride!
It wasn't the way I had intended to do the run, but it was better than not doing it at all and I am very grateful to Tim for sorting it out and obviously to Chris who let a total stranger drive his very valuable car.
That's 2 runs now in 2 different cars, roll on 2018 and hopefully do it in the 2000 next time - and I expect to see you entered next time too Jason!
