O.K. Guys, this is probably the best we are going to get.
I have now persuaded Brands to let us have the track for a parade lap in the lunch break Stags only-good or what? They have said one lap only led by the course car at approx 50mph.
Bob
Bob, This will really add some excitement to the afternoons racing forall spectators
No! I don't mean the Stag will add excitement, but it will makemuch more interesting racing if Tim sprays oil all over the track like last year!
Just had a look at the Brands web site and our event is down as the GP circuit. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is a Grand Prix Circuit and the Indy Circuit, I think we will be going the long way round YeeeHaaa
Phoned Brands today and they confirmed the meeting is on the Grand Prix track. That's probably why they said 1 lap only as it is going to take longer to go round.
Really p***ed off I cant make it. I have a Stag do (pre nuptials type) that weekend for my nephew.
Why do they have to have a whole weekend away a month before the wedding these days. Just went to the disco and got sloshed during the week before hand in my day !

No stamina these kids, could always come home early Sunday morning

Some of them dont even go out until early Sunday morning, let alone come home!

We will have to sign a disclaimer first before we are allowed on the circuit.(we can try our luck for a second lap on the day).
We will get V.I.P. parking on Colin Chapman Way which is on gravel (this is also easier to get onto thetrack)
They will not budge on the cost though and I have tried several times but the answer is as follows:
1) Book on line for £16 per person
2) Book via a human being via phone £17 per person
3) Pay on the day £20 per person
Children 12 and under free
These are the same prices for public as well and so under these conditions it is best for everybody to book direct as there is no advantage to booking via myself this year.
When you do book your tickets, let me know, so that I can get the the passes for entry into the circuit and track pass.
I would suggest that we start booking from April 1st. in case something else arises cost wise ( Al is threatening to cut the trees down if they don't co-operate, let's hope he gets more luck than me with his contact) and I will close the list for passes on June 14, that will give a10 week period for booking and allow me time to get the passes and distribute them beforehand.
Bob
Hi Bob,
I threatened them with deforestation, but didn't make any difference - they still won't budge on the price.
Still with two people in a car, that is only £7 more than last year, plus we get a parade lap as well - not too bad really - well done Bob!!
Add my name to the list, and just got to get the car on the road now.
The do's in Bristol and I'm bound to end up with a massive hangover trying to keep up with the youngsters !
Annoyingly I onlyliveonly 30 mins from Brands. I have booked tickets for the A1 GP, May bank holiday though. Any one else going to that. Sunday tickets are £29, weekend tickets £39 (Fri, Sat & Sun).
This is also on the full GP circuit. Make sure you get out the back of the circuitnear Dingle Dell, you wont get closer to the track at any other circuit. Also walk overthe bridge on the main back straight when a full on racer (or snakey) goes under at 170mph. Weird sensation, the bridge feels like it lifts 2 inches.
