I should add that it is significantly lighter probably because I used new old stock clutch cover but new plate. because of this the clutch was light but biting right on the carpet which was thicker than usual. I shifted the pushrod to another hole on the cross shaft which made the clutch heavier in operation.

By changing nowt but the slave I have been able to revert to using the middle hole on the cross shaft and the bite point is mid way on pedal travel.

I have seen new B & B clutch setup where it is all you can do to hold the clutch pedal down, not sure it will fix that issue

Currently If I go to the bottom hole its lighter but the bite point is near the floor, I'm thinking that if I go with this I will be able to at least go to the bottom hole and have it bite a bit higher... easy stage one.. stage 2 is the correct profile release bearing thar I have in hand but as its perfect Stag weather over here I'm awaiting the bad weather before I do that!

        I'll report back..

I recalling asking JP about the other cylinder. I seem to recall they said is was for a Dolomite.

OK, I installed the long throw slave today, put it on the lower hole and the bite point is pretty good… however it’s actually heavier than my standard setup so the lower hole does not account for the extra effort needed. I have reverted to the standard setup.

                  At least we know now!

My stock B/B clutch is OK, IIRC similar to my old TR but compared to e.g. my MGB its pretty heavy and as I get older I would like it a little lighter, I have the correct profile bearing which should help but if I was going to look for a NOS type stock clutch cover what brand am I looking for? Or is it simply an old one!
