That looks like a very fine quality reproduction door panel. Are all the retailers offering this quality door panel from one supplier?
Chestnut and Mimosa, one of the classic colour combinations for this beautiful car and a luxurious feel with the wool carpets.
My car left the factory with the same lovely combination. I did make the effort at the time to find a close shade and texture to the Chestnut in leather from the local hide importers but found nothing really suitable and anything that was in that close shade of brown didn't appeal and was insanely priced.Stag 2500S

It’s been a busy weekend with a beerfest and a trip to Wembley yesterday but managed to get up to the barn to do a bit today.
After fitting the door lock mechanism i had an issue with the door key barrel on this door so had to remove to investigate. I got it working by removing one of the sprung loaded plates so was able to fit the door panel.

Hi Glyn,
Our local football team stepped up on Sunday at Wembley and won promotion back to the premiership… don’t think we will be at the top of that league next year!!!
M and Mi am made up with the quality of the door panels, I purchased them from a trimming company in Wolverhampton.
Thanks Luigi.

where abouts in Australia do you live, i only ask because my daughter lives there ?
She gave you good advice for sure regarding keeping the great interior colour!
I do make an effort to keep the car as original as possible and try not to drill or cut any metal unless absolutely necessary for what I'm trying to achieve. The restoration of my car is gradual; it has now become more a passionate hobby rather than a full on charge.
I bought the car as a 29 year old in the early 90's. Daily driver for a long time. Fair to say I did drill and cut a few bits then that I regret now but they're hardly noticeable thank goodness.
My budget when I started renovating the interior was more restrictive compared to now.
As I mentioned I couldn't find the right brown interior in leather. The main visual change to the car is the non standard interior colour.
Every part of the car I tackle I try to bring it back to 'factory' as much as possible; it's not an achievable outcome of course as the car hasn't left the factory but I'm finding I'm getting a bit obsessed in making sure the right Triumph bolt, screw, nut etc (and even washer) is placed back where it belongs. Some would call this OCD, I call it satisfying.
I kept the pleats only to mid way on the backrest. It was more pleasing to my eye. Just finished the first head restraint. I've lined it with an appropriate foam but I still think that it needs to have more foam filling to give the head restraint a firmer feel. I avoided contrast piping the head restraints, in a nod to the factory finish. Black contrast stitching though.

Non standard cream/contrast piping colour of the seats and door trims of course, all pleating on the seats has been cross stitched. Black contrast stitching on the seat backing board ruffled pockets, just visible in the background. Will do the same on the door ruffled pockets as well.

STypeR your seats look the bee’s, I can’t wait to collect mine and hope the finish is as good as yours. Like you I have been told I am a bit OCD, Im the same in everything I put my hand to, I want it right!!
My daughter lives in Perth, she had to move there from Sydney to try and get residency. You got it right in Aus you won’t let just anyone in they have been trying for roughly 8 years and both work hard.
My daughter is expecting her first child in September, on Wednesday we booked our flights to visit her in January, landing in Melbourne staying for a few days, then driving to Adelaide before flying onto Perth. Can’t wait!!

That's wonderful for your daughter and family.
Mmm, we could be a lot more selective here don't worry. It's annoying to see how ridiculously difficult we are making it for young hard working professionals like your daughter yet I see we make it very easy for many others of a completely different nature.
I have met a few wonderful hard working couples from the UK, who have never relied on the social security system here yet we give them a hard time obtaining residency here. ?
You colonized us for goodness sake! His Majesty will soon be joining his late Mama in having his mug shot on all our coins. What gives? Unfortunately, the woke and political correctness factor are on the rapid increase here.
You have a good travel itinerary. The Melbourne Adelaide drive is lengthy but plenty to see on the way, not as pretty as the UK though. At least you'll be right at home driving on the correct side of the road. Its hot in January. Adelaide and Perth hit the high 30's to low 40's. You'll soon get used to it.
Let us know if you want to catch up while you're here. My brother in law has the black supercharged Stag (and a standard Mimosa one as well) near the airport. He also works for a personal driving company, mostly driving executives and all their families too and from the airport. I'm sure he'll give you the wholesale rate if you need transportation!
Best to have an obsession to detail when restoring a car; commonly misdiagnosed as OCD LoL...
That's me driving my brother in laws car during one of the parade processions leading up to the Melbourne Cup, through the city of Melbourne. Jockey, Mr Darren Weir is about to hop in and sit on the tonneau cover along with his family and trainer of the horse he was riding. The cup officials would regularly reach out to us Stag owners. The Lord Mayor always occupied the lead car of course and not a Stag LoL, usually a DHC Jaguar Mark V or Mark VII, I can't remember.

Some of the many Stag's lining up in the morning for the day's precession at the sheds of the Victoria Market.

A relevant American period advert with no relevance to the conversation whatsoever.. Nice shorts though. Wouldn't mind a pair of 'Stag Whites' shorts to drive around in my Mimosa Stag.
