    TOYMPH Photos

This is a place holder for one of our international members to post pictures of his freshly painted Frankenstag. It was painted last weekend but due to what can only be a rift in the Time/Space continuum it was spotted on a trailer this week still in primer.... (& no it's not been painted white by mistake).

Crikey. That registration plate is actually available. Think I'll go get it. And a witness has come forward to say the car has been seen with the engine bay and door shuts in a pristine Cherry Red metallic. Yee Ha! Mr Paintman was apparently up till 2.00 a.m. getting that done.

I am strongly advised that no one should be allowed to lean on the high quality paintwork. It's so deep they'd fall in!

The beast finally has colour. Been a long long wait. Sorry about the quality of imagery which was taken with my phone. Will take some better quality al round shots later in the week when the engine goes in.

Yes, it looks brilliant now. Took a few hours to get it this good though. Fits perfectly around the lower air grill. I have no idea how Rimmers can sell that spoiler and claim it to fit the Stag. Anyway job done. I had planned to fit running lamps in the spoiler but they were too long and fouled the lower valence. Would have had to take the spoiler off to change the light bulbs. They will be relocated into the lower air vent instead.

The colour is matador red metallic and is on the Lexus IS250. Here is a link to a day time shot. It makes a great modern day equivalent to the Carmine Red. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3272/...167b9923f6.jpg

Paint looks pretty ripple free! and that spoiler looks the Bees Knees. 2nd photo looks like the spoiler comes to a point in the middle which looks awesome - may just be the lighting though!

Cheeky git. No trick of the light. Just pure talent on Brent and Warwick's part. You should see the back of the car. Pure work of art. Pics to come.

I've been painting the front headlight grill tonight. Now need to source a suitable black powder coated grill for the lower air vents.

              Cheers

Hi Dave, Good idea. The closest I found here was a Ford falcon but they are ready formed and badged to fit the Ford. Other option was to find the stainless steel and get it powder coated. I've got a jaguar XJR. The total grill measures 76 x 17 cm. I haven't got the Stag here. Would that be enough to do the two lower air vents.

I bought 2 sheets to replace the grill, 1 black, 1 silver(ali) it was sold as similar to the Bentley grill, BUT IT'S NOT, it is just pressed ali.

Still on shelf waiting to be fitted, photos to follow.

                      Jeff.

Can anyone recommend a good hard top headlining and hard top trim supplier. Rimmers sell the headlining for 85 pounds whilst paddocks are 60 pounds. Is there a difference in the material?

                          Cheers

I saw the hard top at the paint shop today. A lot of work went into removing rust from all four sides. Now it is under final prep for painting. No point me messing up the lining so the plan is to give the hard top to Wayne the upholsterer, that way I won't be wasting MY time on it. (Only my money!) All I need to do is source the roof fabric and side trim.

Pictures will be taken tomorrow when the car is back on the ground. Just before it gets covered in bubblewrap.

If you're any good you'll have the engine in and running by Whiskey O'Clock. Unless we intend to spend the evening taking things back off which seems the norm for Stag restoration!

                              Cheers
