Drove home From La Tranche Sur Mer which was the last part of our French trip. Covered 2250 miles and in some serious temperatures. Stag was fine occupants didn't fair so well! One part of the journey from Frejus to Toulouse was up a mountain road for about a 10 mile incline, Stag temp gauge just hit the second dot on the gauge.
Wife, me and 2 children and 2 1/2 weeks worth of luggage so the car was weighed down a bit but it still performed well and returned 32 mph but this was cruising at 60 mph.
Please don't let people tell you Stags are unreliable. If you are thinking about doing something similar in your Stag just do it and don't worry!

The car is currently not well though, as the brakes have failed (at least one leaking rear brake cylinder), so will pick up new shoes and cylinders from Paddocks when get to Chester, as off on another trip on Tuesday (Chelmsord, The Rivers & Waterways of Belgium & Holland, then Chester).

Took my beautiful Java Green machine for a quick trip before lunch out to Corfe, then across to Arne and back to Wareham. Glorious sunshine and luscious heather on heartland moor. Horses gave me a fright though as they stood obstructing the road.
Tomorrow evening there's a classic car meet at the Cock and Bottle at Morden off the A35. Weather permitting my mean green machine will be there. 2 Stags last month. Hopefully more tomorrow plus some serious exotica.
