Yes Mark, here's what I used:

It gets a bit wordy, but does let you know exactly what to do.
I didn't cut off the central Earth pin (didn't see the need) and used a pop rivet to secure the regulator inside the case.
My original regulator had failed and was allowing battery voltage to pass through to the gauges, the new one gives a constant 9.8 volts
I'll post a couple of pictures soon.
      Cheers,
      Mark.

Is that basically what this one would look like if it were opened?:

Yes I guess so. You can see it's been opened and re-crimped. To be honest, it took me a little while and they're not that expensive ready made from the suppliers but it was satisfying to do it myself.
              Cheers

Took it for MOT, been off the road for over a year, failed on leaking steering rack, only done 400 miles since it was reconned, not happy.

Owned it 10 years yesterday, and to celebrate used it to deliver some stuff in Kent for Mrs K with my son, who was just 6 and unable to see over the dash when I bought it, followed by a maccy d chocolate milkshake. He can't really remember a time when we didn't have the Stag, and is still just as enthusiastic.

So, although life goes on, the Stag will stay

Luckily I had researched on the forum and got equipped with the extensions and it went easily!

Got the car last July after it had been store for 10 years and only done 300 in the last 14 years. Just done the basics to re-commission now going to drive it and see what other TLC the old girl needs. 1974 Manual with o/d in Maple with Tan interior and hardtop - I wonder how many Maples are left on the road ?
