    That's life Jeff

As a post script to the last post, it had a remarkable effect on the stickiness of the splines - all the noises gone and the suspension is riding the road bumps and speed humps like a car with Rilsan shafts.... and all for a fiver!!

Looking forward to my little run up to Leamington Spa on Thursday now with renewed enthusiasm

Collected my car back from the body shop for the second time. The doors close properly but there is still a small gap at the top where the roof, window and A post meet. Any ideas how to cure this anyone? Myinitial thoughts are to replace the inner and outer rubber strips to The A post as well as the rubber strips on the undersides of the folding roof. Probably slightly oversized but soft rubber.
      Would welcome your views Russ.

Quite possibly my water too, as I believe it passes here before ending up in Brum

S.O.C. was well represented ( about 30 Stags ...ish ) though, I was parked up elsewhere with friends and family in other cars.

Wonderful mix of cars, trucks, stalls, events etc. etc.
Havent done Webbs for a few years now, I think I did 6 on the trot. One year cost me a fortune because we bought a hot tub in their sale
Still haven't managed the plum festival.

I went to visit Son and daughter-in-law near Barmouth via Welshpool and Cader Idris had a morning at Tywyn then a drive through Snowdonia but on the way back got stuck in some Bank Holiday Monday traffic on M56 ( My fault should have sussed it and used the A roads) around Runcorn covered around 300 miles in total used no oil no water returned 26mpg (auto). Car gets a touch noisy over 70mph...but of course I never exceed that limit not even on the M56 trying to make up for the 30 minutes lost in the traffic jam. Fish and chips for tea back in Sunny Bramhall then Game of Thrones..excellent..at this rate I'm going to have to ring the insurers again to increase the mileage allowance!

It was my first time at The Plum festival, and I must say that I was most impressed. Lots to look around and a great variety of vehicles. (More MX5s than you could shake a stick at). Mind you, the 26 degree heat also helped.

Good turn out of Stags at Pershore, counted 37 in our group, plus another 3-4 dotted around in Club groups and individually parked. Agree weather did help, but wifey forgetting the cider didn't. Had to buy some.

Drove mine from Tunbridge Wells to Normandy on the way to St. Malo. Disgusting rain all the way down past Le Havre and Caen, speed limited to 110kph :-(. Helps the fuel consumption, 28mpg so far.

BTW, fuel prices in France are even more expensive than in the U.K. now that the pound has crashed.

Just got back from a round trip to Leamington Spa, following some local mileage this morning prior to leaving - 312 miles in one day, majority between 70 and 80 mph and still showing a quarter tank... and the car performed faultlessly- who said Strombergs are terrible and can't be tuned properly? Hardly touched mine in 40k...

Next time I'll phone, and you can bring me down a flask - better than a Starbucks, Jason - besides, if I go that far north I'll get nosebleeds from the altitude

                            Bought 4 nice new tyres!

Having recently done 2 round trips of 350 miles I felt that the car deserved them!

                            (Bought Dunlops, after much searching)

I fitted the new drivers side Speedblade wiper sourced from the Brothers then drove to work in the rain.
