The Stag ran beautifully apart from the SU fuel pump points sticking and causing us to stop, a sharp blow with a spanner finally cured the problem. I have ordered one of the plastic electronic ones from LD. Any tips on fitting this would be much appreciated.

Just back in Surrey from the Gordon Bennett weekend in Ireland. Had a really good time, the weather was fantastic and the Irish were very friendly and helpful. I counted 5 Stags, 3 white and 2 red.

Just had a nice 120 mile round trip to pick up my wedding ring that a jewler l know has made for me (but that's another story) so thought l would check my underbonnet temp as it's a warm day.
the gauge has been running between the 2 dots about midway on the scale.
average temp...inlet,thermostat housing, hoses 75 degC
both exhaust manifolds 177 degC after 5 mins tick over.
be interesting to see how any of this changes when the ceramic coated pheonix manifolds go on.
car interior gets hot to the point of uncomfortable on a run of this length so must also get the tunnel underside insulated.
more jobs for the list...that's why we love them.

Have they made any difference,or is it just the extra sound

What did I do with my Stag for the last 8 days....800 mile round trip mostly roof off, Oxfordshire to Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Bodmin Moor etc, car was super, every day we got numerous "nice car" comments.
Did a Classic Car run with West Somerset Railway one Sunday and a show at Lynton Lynmouth last Sunday, met other local Stags and was welcomed by the areas SOC club coordinator, I feel like a local.
Car did almost overheat on final blast home M5 Bridgewater to Gloucester but at a constant 65-70 mph was not surprised really (got Waterless Coolant so no drama)
Got home , switched engine off and headlights main beam stayed on so had to disconnect battery, car wanted to carry on I am sure.
Excellent week for the Stag!
