Washed it, waxed it, removed hardtop and went for a jolly run and now parked up in Princes Risborough waiting for rac. From what I have been able to work out the new electronic ignition module has failed.
It coughed at 2k rpm left me enough time to think wtf was that before ignition died and I coasted to the verge. It restarted and died twice and no starty at all.
Checked voltage to coil and ei module fine. Replaced coil and rotor. Cap looks OK. I have no tools nor a spare sparkplug so cannot test HT side. But the way it died suggests ignition.Stags and Range Rover Classics - I must be a loony

I remembered I have got another Stag hiding in the garage, so taxed it and found the clutch had rusted on. Started it in reverse to get it out of the garage, let it warm up a bit before starting it up in 1st and roaring off down the road giving it some big style left foot braking until the clutch freed.
It was then used to go to a garden centre to stock up on SWMBO's Spring supplies. Gave it a bit of a going over this afternoon as it needs an MOT before next weekend.
