Replaced the old coil HT lead with a new one, hoping the hesitation under load would go away. It didn't, so made a quick return to the garage for a rethink.

The car might get first dibs on the shiraz if it would fix things.

No, not a spare, head gaskets and chains being done by a Technician

Had a day off work today and feel more knackered than if I had spent the day at the factory! I visited the workshop and refitted the reinforced diff extension, suspension legs and differential. Refitting a diff on your own is a mauling job isn't it!

Last evening I took mine to the local SOC group meeting. There were three Stags in the pub car park, an increase of two since the last time I took my a Stag there.

Had a day off to wait for the boiler repair man (I don't fix boilers) and managed to get the rebuild off my fuel pump done - bought the kit from LD about two years ago and only after "SAL" decided to embarrass me on Saturday by cutting out 3 times once by a road island I decided it was time!

Complete SU kit dead easy to get the old one apart and fit the new seals, points etc., and now it works with a good and healthy tick - If your pump is an SU one and knackered get the kit and DIY, you'll have a proper pump that will last for years.

                  Cheers

i know what you mean about fitting it on your own, i know it takes a bit longer, but i put the rear suspension back diff first, then the subframe arms etc

Fitted a Mota-Lita leather steering wheel, didn't like the original thin rim.

Exhausts both refitted this afternoon. MOT booked for next Friday.

I did similarly - whilst I'd have preferred to keep it original, my hands were frequently cramping up on the thin wheel, especially in cool weather. Gloves improved the cramp, but operating the O/D in gloves doesn't work too well. Like most mods, they bring their own issues and I find reflections of full sun on the highly polished spokes rather distracting even with polaroids. Anyone got any solutions to that?

After 6 months with no rear I finally got the rear suspension back up and in place. Now just replace hood cables and fit second hand near side door handle. Good clean and polish and ready for Bicester heritage show on 24 April.

I see some polished spokes and want to paint it black - God bless the Rolling Stones

The only thing I can suggest is maybe adjusting the steering column, just slightly.
